Skin Peel Treatment London

Skin Peel Treatment London

The London Dermatology CentreTM offers a range of facial peels suitable for a number of different conditions. You can keep your skin texture and tone fresh by having a skin peel. Skin peels are ideal treatments for fine lines, acne scarring, active acne, photoageing, pigmentation problems and lightening. Skin Peels work by removing dead skin cells from the top layer of skin and encouraging new ones to grow. This leads to a fresher, more glowing complexion. During your first appointment a full clinical assessment of your skin will be performed and any issues relating to your treatment will be discussed by you and your consultant. One of our experienced aesthetic specialists will guide you through the different treatment options and help you to decide on your preferred peel that will give you the best results.

Obagi Blue Peel®:

The Obagi Blue Peel® is a unique peel that utilises a substance known as Trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The application is personalised to the needs of each individual patient in order to precisely control the depth of exfoliation to be achieved. The blue colour in the base is applied to the face as a safe guard to enable the practitioner to see the depth of application to the skin and areas that need more or less of the base peel. The peels are variable in the depth and can be used on all skin types and can also be effective on the neck, chest, hands and arms.

The Obagi Blue Peel® is used to resurface the skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation variance over the face, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after acne, sun damage, lentigo solaris and actinic keratosis. The procedure takes up to half an hour depending on the area to be covered. The depth of peel is dependant on the primary skin condition to be treated.

Light exfoliation: This will penetrate the top layer of skin known as the stratum corneum to reduce fine lines, large pores, open comedones (black heads) and minor skin pigmentation problems. The time period for healing differs from person to person.

Deep exfoliation: This penetrates the epidermis to the basal layer which is the bottom layer of the epidermis, the top layer of skin, so it is moderate in depth. This can be applied for deeper lines and acne scarring correction and pigmentation problems the time period for healing differs from person to person.

Standard Blue Peel: This deep peel penetrates the papillary dermis which part of the dermis and is used for marked pigmentation and deep acne scarring problems as well as deep lines and wrinkles. The time period for healing differs from person to person.

Designed Blue Peel: This deep peel penetrates what’s known as the reticular dermis. This is part of the dermis. This is used for very deep pigmentation variances and acne scarring that is resistant to less invasive peels. The time period for healing differs from person to person.

After your treatment you will be given detailed information that is specific to your aftercare and you will be prescribed aftercare products to protect and moisturise your skin as part of the healing process. You will be able to contact a specialist member of the team for any queries that you may have. You will then be seen again in a follow up appointment about 10 to 15 days after the procedure. In this appointment the practitioner will assess your recovery, the effect of the peel and provide you with an opportunity to ask any further questions and receive further clinical instructions.

Glycolic Peel:

The Glycolic Peel stimulates the production of collagen and elastin by clearing the superficial layer of dead skin that gives a dull complexion. A substance called glycolic acid or alpha hydroxyl acid is the chemical in the peel that gently removes the top layer of skin. The peel is mild and used in conjunction with prescribed skin preparations as part of the treatment regimen to give you rejuvenated skin and a healthy glow to your complexion.

The Glycolic Peel is frequently used to target fine lines and wrinkles, to even out skin discolouration and to improve skin texture. The Glycolic Peel is also effective in reducing the appearance of acne scarring and sun spots. The exfoliation process removes the dead skin cells revealing the softer, smoother, healthier skin below.

Mesoeclat:

Mesoeclat is a skin peel system made up of Salicylic Acid and a further pre and post-peel supplement that are continued at home as part of the course to reveal new healthy younger looking skin. The peel strips away the top layer of skin to reveal the smoother, fresher skin below. Your skin looks refreshed with fewer wrinkles and firmer facial skin.

The Mesoeclat skin peel consists of three complementary systems: Mesoeclat solution, Mesoeclat ampoule and the Mesoeclat cream. The aim of these systems is to stimulate the renewal of the epidermis (the upper layer of skin), to increase the luminositiy of the skin, deeply moisturise the skin and to eliminate the signs of wrinkles and fine lines.

Each one of the Mesoeclat skin peel systems contain different ingredients designed to produce different effects. The solution contains salicylic and azelaic acids to exfoliate the skin and stimulate skin cell renewal. The Mesoeclat ampoule contains a combination of organic silicon with Glucosaminoglycans, L-Carnitine and Lipoic acid. The antioxidants in the ampoule have a strong growth and moisturising action. The Mesoeclat cream contains kojic acid as well as hyrolysed milk and wheat proteins. The kojic acid has a gentle skin whitening action which helps restore luminosity to skin while the hydrolysed proteins revitalise skin cells to prevent the signs of premature aging.

Perfect Peel:

The Perfect Peel utilises a unique formula to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne as well as lightening Melasma, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Using a combination of acids the Perfect Peel will deliver outstanding results after just one treatment. After a single treatment your overall skin tone and complexion will appear smoother, fresher and more glowing. A series of 2 to 3 treatments applied once every 4 weeks will allow for optimum results for more severe skin conditions such as Melasma and active acne.

The Perfect Peel is suitable for all skin types and is commonly applied to the face, neck, chest and hands. It can be applied to other areas of the body. If this is something you are interested in please discuss this with your aesthetic practitioner. The Perfect Peel will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, reduce enlarged pores, help build collagen and elastin which in turn help to tighten and firm the skin. In addition, it will reduce or even eliminate hyperpigmentation and Melasma. Acne and acne scars can be dramatically improved but may require 3 to 4 treatments for optimum results. The treatment fights free radical damage to remove discolouration due to sun damage and even out overall skin tone and complexion.

Following your treatment your skin will appear red, like a sunburn, or slightly darker. The amount of skin peeling associated with The Perfect Peel is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin. The Perfect Peel home care moisturiser (included with each peel) will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating the upper layer of skin.
